And you are...?
My name is Nicole. I’m 22 23 years old. I was born and raised in an island in the Caribbean, which is supposed to give me permission to work often on my tan. I didn't though. Currently, my roots are set in London, UK as I attend culinary school. What can I say? I am an island girl through and through.
Since I was a little girl, I had always dreamt of two things: being a novelist and having my own bakery. Didn’t matter that the only baking I had ever done involved a Miss Betty Crocker and some water. I went to the nearest supermarket, bought some Betty instant mix and went to town with my faux-made brownies and muffins.
Instant Betty gave me baking superpowers. All I needed to do was add water to the mix and in a few minutes I would be enjoying the fruits of my non-labor. Like magic. This also meant that I could use my superpowers to attract boys I liked. I had the culinary gift you see.
One day I felt experimental. Instead of using a mix, thought I could make something completely from scratch and have it actually taste better than Instant Betty’s (LE GASP!). All that baking confidence went down the drain when I accidentally overused an ingredient and the cookies came out tasting like sour candy and Clorox. Perhaps my baking adventures should be limited to Instant Betty’s guidance, I thought.
Enter food blogs.
These little corners online were filled with both professionals and starter bakers (like me!). They made delicious-looking food and displayed their finished products with breathtaking photography. People that share my love for beauty and sugar rolled into one? Count me in!
So here I am with a brand new blog, a healthy dose of courage to keep me going through the hits and misses in the kitchen and a lot of dreams that I will write/bake into reality. Now add strawberries.
What does "Mademoiselle Fraise" mean?
Mademoiselle is the French word for miss; Fraise is the French word for strawberry. So you could say I am Miss Strawberry!
Why did you choose that name?
Because it's really cute! And that's enough for me.
What kind of camera do you use?
My baby is a Canon EOS Digital Rebel XSi with a simple yet lovable 50mm lens. Her name is Chantilly.

Can I send a product for you to review in your blog?
I don't do product reviews. If I find something awesome, let it be book, kitchen appliance or what-have-you, I'll share it because I love it not because there is any monetary gain for me.
I want to contact you.
Yay! Make my inbox happy at themademoisellefraise [at] gmail [dot] com. I also tweet @lamllefraise and I am on goodreads.
